Imagine my surprise when I clicked on a video about sentence mining and saw my Baseball Replay guy; I thought I had clicked on the wrong video. I discovered the Dream of the Red Chamber blog on Substack a very short time before that, and I didn't know you made YouTube content about languages. Your output is quite amazing considering you have a day job and a family. I don't expect a post from you every day. My unsolicited advice is to take care of yourself, don't burn out, and keeping doing projects that interest you. Your followers are just along for the ride. We should be cooling off here in the Northeast next week. I was at the game in Philly on Thursday afternoon, and the stadium hit 103 degrees. You know it's hot when they're giving free bottles of water to fans entering the stadium! Instead of batting averages, they were putting OPS up there on the Jumbotron; when did that start?
Yeah, I'm hoping that it's a lot cooler next week. This last week has been crazy... I just got back from mowing the lawn, and I'm regretting not getting up early and doing it at 6 AM, lol.
I'm not sure when they started putting OPS up on the boards; I think it might have been a decade or so ago.
My lawn is brown :) I mow for a neighbor and my mother-in-law, who just moved into our neighborhood last month; I was able to get all three of our yards in on one evening about three weeks ago. They could all use another pass with the mower but can wait until the weather is more seasonable; we're also in a bit of a draught. At CBP this past Thursday I noticed that they are putting the OPS up as the main stat, where the BA used to be. Not a big deal, but it'll take some getting used to for me to see that. I guess the bigger number is what they want to project to the fans.
Have a great 4th my fellow rollers. We are blessed to live in the USA🫡

Thanks man!

Happy 4th from the West Coast!
You are busy, plus...you have a family, don't forget that.
You mentioned the Bill James Baseball Abstracts. Replaying 1987 and I found a 1988 BA on eBay. Great replay companion!
