I'm still disappointed that Doc was traded to Memphis in 1924.
Back in the stone age, I thought the McMillan was amazing. Of course. it wasn't enough, and soon i was collecting old Who's Who and TSN Registers and Daguerreotypes and even old ballpark scorebooks with player and coach bios, and I remember sending away for Wayne Graczyk Japanese baseball publications, and even a Winter League newsletter. BBRef added minor league stats, which are amazing. I used Baseball Cube to make a BBW disk of college teams years ago. But the crown jewel is the Mexican League encyclopedia
No wonder I never get any work done with all those distractions
I got some of Wayne Graczyk Japanese baseball stuff years ago, also some good stuff by another guy I believe his last name was Allen?. Back in the 1990s I created NPB baseball season for Diamond Mind, actually started the last year it was still called Pursue the Pennant.
I ended up becoming email pals with someone in Japan. We talked baseball and he sent me the Japanese Baseball Encyclopedia. I also had the Mexican Encyclopedia. I remember making the 1966 season for DMB along with someone else. Hard to believe I had the patience back then to do those things.
Wayne did a great job. I think the stuff I got was 1974 or so. Ditto for the winter league newsletter. Wish I still had that stuff.
Creating seasons is a lot of work. Somehow I made a 1979 Mexican League (20 teams) and a 1974 PCL (I think Sacramento hit 300 plus HRs with a crazy short LF wall), My peepers aren't up to that task anymore
Some PC games, like Action PC allow you to import in data now. The last seasons I created were with that game (1981 AAA seasons) I did it during covid times. It was a lot less time consuming then it was back with Diamond Mind and having to type everything in.

Yeah, I lost most of my books including the Japanese Encyclopedia and Mexican League ones in floods from the storms of 2024.
I remember watching on YouTube a video about the 1974 Sacramento team and that short wall.
