This is one you’re going to want to watch first.
Bob Lemon managed to no hit the Washington Senators.
Lemon came close to throwing a perfect game. He issued two walks in a row in the top of the 4th inning. Bob settled down, though, mowing down the Washington lineup like there was nothing to it.
There were a few close calls. I was already thinking no hitter when this happened in the top of the 6th:
And then there was this in the top of the 7th:
Finally, there was this close play in the top of the 9th:
I’m not quite sure how close that last one actually was, to be honest. Maybe it seemed closer because a no hitter was on the line.
Masterson actually pitched pretty well for the Senators, all things considered. The Indians are really good, however, and are busy carving out a place for themselves at the top of the American League.
