Why Do We Replay?
Why do we play the games we play?
Is it because we have a psychological desire to recreate our own past? Do you find yourself only playing seasons you remember?
Or is there something else?
Personally, I tend to play seasons from long before I was born. But I’m not sure I understand why.
I’d love to know what you think. Comments are open to all.
I enjoy managing baseball games especially in competitive pennant races with favorite or iconic players and teams. Most of my replays have involved seasons between 1948 and 1968 with no post season playoffs, just the World Series.
Your comments inspired me to buy the 1967 Street & Smith Baseball Yearbook to get a better feel for my 1967 AL Replay. Thank you for wonderful idea. Hopefully Sporting News will digitalize their periodicals soon ... that would be a very good resource too.
