Daniel, although a check-in on how you're doing is great, you should not feel obliged to apologize for your productivity in the midst of so many other commitments and responsibilities.
When it comes to sharing your insights, research, and enthusiasm with your readers and listeners, generosity is the word that comes to mind. I feel sorry for someone who would unsubscribe because they feel like they are not getting value for their money...it's their loss, really.
Thanks for the update! You clearly have a passion for baseball history and that's what makes your content so compelling. To be honest, sometimes it's nice to have less stuff to read in my inbox. I subscribe to about four other Substacks, and yours is the only one I read for pure enjoyment. And, yours is the only one that I usually bother to comment on, because your "likes" let me know that you're reading them and I'm not wasting my time. Keep up the good work, Daniel :)
I get your reasons for the self-imposed daily article schedule.
From a reader perspective though, I don’t think you need to feel locked into “something every day.” I’d personally be just as happy with fewer posts if they’re the ones you really want to write.
I think you are right though on being better with the comments. It is not just polite but important to engage with those that take the time to respond to your articles. With the articles on my page I have found some of my best follow-ups have come straight out of those exchanges. It also kind of extends the life of the article and deepens it.

Thank you very much!
I’m still always going to feel nervous when I’ve been quiet for too long, though, haha…
Thanks for feeling sorry for me. It’s truly appreciated!!
Thanks for the update. First things first ... Family, family then family

Thanks a ton!
I’m also going to try to be a bit more responsive to comments - though it takes time…
Time is indeed a precious resource, especially for those of us raising kids!
Take care of family first. Always.
Consider a couple of co-writers/researchers as well.

I like your content, I really dislike substack. Yeah, it’s a deal breaker for me. 😢
