I'm so fascinated by baseball simulation archeology, thanks for this series. Could there be multiple card patterns that explain the cards that break the one pattern you found?
I've looked, but I haven't been able to find any other patterns among the cards that break the pattern. It looks like Van Beek simply took certain out numbers and rotated them at random for about 70% of the cards.
