1908 NPIII Replay
I am currently conducting a 1908 Major League Baseball replay using the Skeetersoft NPIII computer game.
NPIII was originally a board game created by Bill Staffa. The underlying game engine is an updated and expanded version of the original National Pastime game by Clifford van Beek, a game that is impossibly difficult to find an original copy of (and even reprint copies are quite scarce).
You can read an introduction to this project here. You can also learn more about NPIII on the Skeetersoft Delphi Forums.
I have uploaded several videos of myself playing NPIII onto YouTube. You can find the playlist here. Please note that games come out on YouTube before they are featured on the blog.
As usual, I am using the original as-scheduled schedule, complete with full original transactions and my own lineups.

Game Recaps
Please note that I do not write recaps for every game that I play. I only provide recap posts for games that were particularly memorable.

George Davis Saves the Day We’ll jump straight into the top of the 6th in this one. The score was tied, 1-1. Catcher Billy Sullivan came up for the White Sox with two outs, Freddy Parent standing on second, and Jiggs Donahue on at first:
Turning It Around In Detroit
Turning It Around In Detroit The defending American League champion Detroit Tigers haven’t had the best start to the season. It’s early, but the Tigers have a 2-4 record, and are near the bottom of the league. But this one at home against the Browns might turn it around for them.

Don't Count Brooklyn Out!
Don’t Count Brooklyn Out! Baseball journalism has never quite equaled the heights it reached back in the glory days of the New York Sun. Seriously — there’s nothing more fun than reading the extremely detailed accounts of the old New York Giants home openers in 1900 and before within its pages.

Cobb Blows It
Cobb Blows It I was going to write about how surprising it is to see Detroit in last place this early in the season. It turns out that they were just as bad in real life:
